About Hope Valley Conservancy
Hope Valley Conservancy encompasses 160 acres near New Glarus, Wisconsin. This unique topography harbors five distinct ecosystems from dry-mesic forest to remnant prairie. The conservancy is organized as a 501(c)3 non profit entity. The land was purchased in 2013 with a commitment to restore a high level of plant and animal diversity and preserve the natural landscape for generations to come.
Hope Valley is home to hundreds of different species of plants, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds. The Natural Heritage Review Inventory lists two threatened bird species and the wood turtle as species of particular interest within the property. Sandhill cranes nest in the wetland every spring; migrating Whooping Cranes and Blue Herons have been sighted on the property. As urban spaces become more densely populated, opportunities to interact with the natural world diminish. Hope Valley Conservancy offers an opportunity for those seeking solitude and intimate connection with nature, whether looking inward or outward, whether asking questions or searching for answers.
